Meet Dr. Downing Moua

Dr. Downing Moua was born in Arizona and raised in California with his three younger brothers. He graduated with honors from Boston University School of Dental Medicine in Massachusetts in 2003. After dental school, Dr. Moua went on to complete an extra year of training in hospital-based dentistry serving medically compromised adults and children. Dr. Moua then worked in private practice until 2008.

In 2008, Dr. Moua relocated to the Pacific Northwest with a desire to work in public health. He spent a year working with children at a non-profit in Tacoma, Washington serving foster, runaway, and under-served children. He was then recruited to become the Dental Director for a Native American Tribe in Washington and served for over three years. In the summer of 2012, Dr. Moua started Juanita Bay Dentist.

Dr. Moua believes that skill and compassion go hand in hand when providing exceptional patient care. Along with being a certified Invisalign® provider, he is also able to treat individuals with sleep apnea via oral appliances, allowing for the avoidance of a C-PAP. As a doctor, he recognizes that patients are unique individuals who have placed a great deal of trust in him and his team and that is why he values every patient relationship.

In his free time Dr. Moua enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and his “dorkie” (dachshund/yorkie). He enjoys basketball, snowboarding, hiking, camping, and fishing. He follows all types of music from local indie acts to R&B and soul. Dr. Moua has volunteered with numerous non-profit adoption agencies such as Northwest Adoption Exchange (based in Seattle) and Adoption Mosaic (based in Portland). His favorite Seattle sports team is the Sounders.
